Eastburn Fisheries, located at 1 Main Rd, Eastburn, in the heart of Keighley, is a standout destination for those craving authentic, mouthwatering fish and chips as well as an extensive range of traditional British takeaway favorites. This quintessential fish and chips shop brings together the comforting flavors and hearty portions that lovers of classic British cuisine seek, setting a warm and welcoming tone for every visit.
The culinary offerings at Eastburn Fisheries extend far beyond their famously crispy, golden fish and chips—a true highlight praised by many patrons. The batter here achieves that perfect delicate crunch while locking in the succulent, flaky fish beneath, creating an irresistible bite that leaves customers eager for more. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick Fish & Chip Butty or craving rich, cheesy chips smothered with beans, Eastburn Fisheries has crafted each dish with care and precision.
For pie enthusiasts, the menu reads like a nostalgia-fueled dream: from Meat & Potato and Steak & Kidney to the comforting Steak & Kidney Pudding, every pasty and pie bursts with savory fillings that hit that spot only a genuine British pie can. Kevin Behr’s account of enjoying a Meat & Potato pie with curry sauce perfectly captures the homely, satisfying nature of these dishes. They also offer classics like Chicken & Mushroom, Mince Beef & Onion, and Cheese & Onion pies, allowing everyone to find their favorite.
Take a dive into their other delightful items — jumbo sausages (battered or plain), spicy black pudding, pineapple fritters with a sweet twist, scampi, chicken nuggets, and even t. cakes that add an authentic Yorkshire touch. Plus, the addition of proper gravy (the kind you’d expect from a traditional chippy rather than a bland alternative) has earned high praise, as Danny Williams noted, enhancing the overall hearty dining experience.
One of the most beloved facets of Eastburn Fisheries is their friendly service. Customers often highlight the approachable, warm demeanor of the staff who truly make you feel like you’re more than just a takeaway order. David Whitley’s glowing comment about both the food and the owners’ hospitality showcases Eastburn Fisheries as not just a meal stop but a community hub. Furthermore, their recent extension into morning service as Eastburn Sandwiches has introduced an epic full breakfast baguette that blends quality and value, perfect for early risers looking for a delicious start to the day.
Whether you're winding down after a busy day or planning a stop en route to a hospital visit, as John Drury recommends, Eastburn Fisheries offers a comforting and uplifting experience through its exceptional food and welcoming atmosphere. For anyone exploring West Yorkshire’s rich culinary scene, this takeaway shop stands out as a gem where tradition, taste, and genuine care intersect.
In summary, Eastburn Fisheries is the embodiment of classic British takeaway excellence. Their diverse menu, outstanding quality, and heartfelt service craft an experience that goes far beyond grabbing a quick bite — it feels like coming home to flavours that soothe the soul and warm the heart. A must-visit for locals and travelers alike.

Absolutely delicious fish and chips - the batter is absolutely amazing. Owners are really nice and friendly, and the price is fair. Highly recommend!! UPDATE Sept 2025 - now operating in the morning as Eastburn Sandwiches - had an epic full breakfast baguette which was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. Well worth a visit for a great brekkie too!!!

Obviously going to visit anybody at hospital can be a very sad occasion. So if you ever have to go to edit a hospital to visit somebody try to tie it in with a little trip to Eastburn fish and chip shop. This will definitely ease your distress. There are a number of fish and chip shops in West Yorkshire where the fish and chips are out of this world. This is one of them. 2 years ago I went to the British Museum. There was a fish and chip shop nearby, selling 'Traditional fish and chips' cooked in oilfor 24 pounds a portion.. Don't worry I didn't try them! . Eastburn f&c shop uses the best fish(Icelandic) yet their prices are kept very reasonable. I've even considered volunteering at the hospital to give me an excuse to go more regularly. Just be aware that like all good, proper f&c shops it's open 4.30-7pm and lunchtime. So.make sure that visiting times to the hospital fit in with this! Not to be missed! Five stars!
